Google: What you should know about your gmail account.

If you have a gmail account chances are that you have an email account on your phone and you are logged in with it at all times. Yes, it is easy for you to have access to your emails, your google maps and you tube, but did you know that since you are logged in at all times, Google gets to save the history of videos you see, searches you do, places you go, etc by default?

Most people have noticed that if they did a search for "vacation places" they start to see more and more ads for "vacations" or if you were looking for a "new bed" you get to see more ads for beds than usual, coincidence? not at all!

You have an account that helps Google remember what you are doing so that Google can show you ads of what you want, take you places you need to go to, and also if you are searching for a video it will be right there on first place next time you check your you tube account. It is helpful if you are driving and you just say to your phone, "navigate to home" your smart phone will take you to your home with Google Maps, now if you do not want your personal history or searches to be known by Google, you can always turn off the feature by following these simple instructions.

Remember only with your user name and password, you are able to see the history and searches of your account, if you have children this is a great tool for monitoring their activities, but only those with the user name and password will be able to see this information, so do not panic! no one is spying on you, it is just to make your phone or computer smarter! If you would like to opt out of this, you can so it is optional.
